BETA Services

So I came across a website called No Disclaimer: Beta Services and inquired with the contact information to see if they were still operating (no recent posts to the site) and so forth.

I have not yet received a response from them, but was curious if anyone out there has heard or knows of a Editing/Polishing/BETA service online. My family and friends can only be so much help before I need to seek out a new set of eyes. Eyes which are familiar and skilled in the ways of editing and critiquing.

I am working on editing and polishing LIP, so I really need to find someone(s) who can put an objective eye to my writing. *sigh* Plus I would like to get the same feedback with new chapters I am working on.

Anyone have any resources out there that google can't provide me? LOL If you do, would you please be so kind as to share your wealth of information? Pretty Pretty Please.

It seems that new ideas have wormed their way into my head, again. (Sometimes its frustrating, when I have other stories to complete) Anyhow...I present to you....

Doll Baby

Short Summary:

Navea Vaill spends most of her young life afraid of closing her eyes. The images slowly leak from her sordid past when she is trying to sleep. It's enough for her to know that her father was the 'Doll House Killer'. Starting to remember her seven years living in his house of horror, it may just be too much for her to process and accept. Even when there is still someone out there 'showing' her the way.

Note: The outline for this one litterally poured out of my head last night and onto my notebook. It was ridiculous. So, the outline is complete, but in a rough stage. Still this story could come to you much sooner than any others, just because the mojo is really flowing me through this one. Maybe it has something to do with my long time desire to write something scary and more horror filled. :o) The evil people in my head want to play too. :o)

Tentative Summary:

- Parker Scott, tattoo artist and shop owner drinks his past pain into numbness. When fiesty 'Lisa' enters his sights, he can't help the all consuming need to have her. Regardless of the familiarity about her, he wants to forget his past for the night with her.

'Lisa' is ...out for one night of carefree fun that she doesn't usually get. What she isn't looking for is any more drama or trouble in her life.

LIP Companion Story - Collin's POV

So, I have recently started delving deep into Doctor Collin Bishop's mind and working on the outline for his POV story. While this too cannot be guaranteed anytime soon, I have been motivated to polish up the outline for it.

The desire to put together his side of it all has grown; however, my biggest obstacle will be not repeating too much dialogue or same information in LIP. While mimicking some of the scenes is inevitable, I want to try and keep the story fresh. Still not sure if my writing skills can accomplish this or not.

Anyhow, I believe I will be sticking with 'Priorities In Life' (PIL) as I orginally planned for the title. Not fully sold on it yet, but I like the mirror effect of the titles - LIP & PIL, especially since it is a companion story to LIP.

Guess I'll decide more, the closer I get.

Live In Position

The Live In Position in now pretty much complete.

I will be working on reading the story in it's entirety and writing an epilogue or maybe a sequel, not sure yet. However, it will be awhile before I get in finally all sorted out in my head, but I do not plan on leaving the loose ends untied. I promise.

Remember: I am going to read through the completed story and decide if it should be given a sequel or an epilogue. It may take some time, but until then I will be working on Amongst the Ruins and Vegas.

TextNovel Fail August 8 2010

Seems that TextNovel has taken a nose dive tonight

I thought that it was just me and something wrong with my connection until the wonderful Kathleen clued me in on the site wide issue. And I was so looking forward to all the updates I had waiting on me to read tonight. Sigh.

Maybe it's sign that I should hold off posting the last chapter of Live In Position and I need to read through yet again....Hmmmmm....I'll do that now.

Hopefully I will see you all on TextNovel tomorrow. *crossing fingers on both hands and feet*

Chapter 40 - LIP

The chapter is with one of best friends right now. Waiting on some feedback while I re-read the chapter myself and make some corrections.

Now...keep in mind that this is the last chapter in Live In Position. However, once I have gone back to read the entire story in its entirety, I will decide then if I want to just provide final closure and write an Epilogue or if I want to give the sequel a go. Believe me that the sequel would not have the length LIP has, but I do already have some ideas regardless of the direction I take.

LIP Update...

Well, I have over 12 pages of word doc typed up and have resisted the urge to delete them all. My girlfriend convinced me to just let go and write, with no deletion. Then she is going to read it and I am going to re-read it.

After that we are going to go over it a couple of times and work through it. I may have it completed this week, but no promises. ;o)

Btw...she also convinced me to write Chapter 40 a special way so that I could go with either an Epilogue or a Sequel. So now there is less pressure about how I need to write it. Yay for her talking me down from my madness.

Hard Times....

The last chapter(s) of LIP are getting more and more difficult to wrap up. *sigh* I have so many things I've conisdered including in the ending, but I'm not sure if I should.

I guess its more of a struggle with whether or not I want to completely tie all loose ends up, OR keep open the possibility for sequel. Hmmm....

Right now I don't think I will be doing a sequel, but at the same time I have a possible direction I could take it.

Maybe I should just write the next chapter and then plan out a sequel or an Epilogue.

This is way more stressful than I imagined it being when I wrote the outline. Grrr....
